DeAndre Jordan, to the Celtics? Hmmm, I like the sound of that!

The Boston Celtics, who have been on the rise since coach Brad Stevens took over, are expected to sign a star player this offseason. The Celtics, who have 33 million dollars in salary cap space, have never in the history of their storied organization had so much money available to sign players in one particular year. There are many potential stars that the Celtics may sign, but the question is should one of them be DeAndre Jordan?

"Hopefully we can get some things accomplished that we need to. I think we need to upgrade our talent level on our team, and at the same time I'm very excited about a lot of the individuals that we have. Actually, all the individuals, I thought, played the best basketball of their careers in a lot of cases. So I'm excited about the players that we have, and at the same time I feel like we're not at the same level as a team like Cleveland. We found that out." 

What does Minnesota have to do with the Celtics?

Since the Boston Celtics made it into the playoffs this past season, they wont be eligible for the 2015 NBA Draft lottery. This isn't the end of the world though. The Minnesota Timberwolves owe the Boston Celtics a protected 2016 first-round pick from Minnesota because they traded forward Brandan Wright to the Phoenix Suns. The Celtics receive their pick if the Timberwolves fall past No. 12 in the 2016 draft. If Minnesota has another poor season and gets a top 12 pick next season , the Celtics would receive the Wolves’ 2016 second-round pick and 2017 second-round pick.

Honestly, the Celtics want Minnesota to succeed next season. The Timberwolves had the worst record in the league (16-66) last season, so they have the best chance to land the No. 1 overall pick in Tuesday’s lottery, at 25 percent. With NBA Rookie of the Year Andrew Wiggins and other promising young players on the roster, the future looks bright for Minnesota.

The Boston Celtics are on the verge of trading up in the 2015 NBA draft. Some were upset that the Celtics tried and succeeded in making the playoffs because they gave up a lottery pick (top 10 pick) in this upcoming draft. The Celtics have sped up the rebuilding process because of a great system from which allows players to play their full potential.

The Celtics  currently have the 16th and the 25th picks, but they have a ton of picks in years to come, so they could use those pics to trade up for players like Duke's Justise Winslow and Kentucky's all-American Willie Cauley-Stein that they seem to like based on their interviews.

There are many potential stars that the Celtics may sign, but the question is should one of them be Kevin Love?

Speaking of Cleveland, their star power forward Kevin Love will be a free agent this offseason and is likely to sign with another team. The favorites to get him include the Boston Celtics, the New York Knicks and his hometown Los Angeles Lakers. Of the three, the Celtics were the only playoff team this year and Brad Stevens is considered to be the perfect coach for Love, which is why the Celtics are one of the favorites to get him. In addition, the Celtics have a plethora of draft picks which they could use to trade for an elite companion for Love.

Marc Gasol could be the answer, on second thought...

Gasol, a two time all star and a former NBA Defensive player of the year, is a 7'1" big man with versatility. Although Gasol averaged a mere 17.4 points, 7.8 rebounds, 1.6 blocks per game, he has the ability to score and rebound even more, he just has good teammates so he is not asked to do as much. He brings with him tons of playoff experience.

LaMarcus Aldridge, maybe?

This season, Aldridge averaged 23.4 points, 10.2 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 1.0 blocks per game per game. The Celtics have a plethora of draft pics  and cap space so they could get him if the mutual interest is there.

This season, Cousins averaged 24.1 points, 12.7 rebounds, 1.7 blocks per game, which are all career highs. DeMarcus cousins is under contract through the 2017-2018 seasons, which means that the Celtics would have to trade in order to get him. The Celtics have a plethora of draft pics in the future though so they would be able to go through with the trade, if they want to of course.
