“I feel like we need to
have a busy summer, and we will have a busy summer," said President of
Basketball Operations and former Celtics Player Danny Ainge. ESPNBoston.com.
"Hopefully we can get some things accomplished that we need to. I think we
need to upgrade our talent level on our team, and at the same time I'm very
excited about a lot of the individuals that we have. Actually, all the
individuals, I thought, played the best basketball of their careers in a lot of
cases. So I'm excited about the players that we have, and at the same time I
feel like we're not at the same level as a team like Cleveland. We found that
out."
Speaking of Cleveland,
their star power forward Kevin Love will be a free agent this offseason and is
likely to sign with another team. The favorites to get him include the Boston
Celtics, the New York Knicks and his hometown Los Angeles Lakers. Of the three,
the Celtics were the only playoff team this year and Brad Stevens is considered
to be the perfect coach for Love, which is why the Celtics are one of the
favorites to get him. In addition, the Celtics have a plethora of draft picks
which they could use to trade for an elite companion for Love.
